Donald J. Kenton, Sc. D, LLC offers complete management, engineering,
and operational support to organizations focused on producing or repairing technically challenging products using specialty metals and related materials.
With over 30 years experience in manufacturing, systems controls, and restoration of high performance materials, Dr. Kenton has worked in major corporations involved with the manufacture, development, and repair of items fabricated from high performance materials, including Howmet Corporation, and Chromalloy, Inc. Over a 15-year period, Dr. Kenton managed production divisions and led the development of numerous new products and processing technologies.
Dr. Kenton launched his own enterprise, EC Technologies, dedicated to designing, and implementing unique, custom tailored repairs of turbine engine components. The company grew to become an internationally recognized leader in this highly demanding industry with over 100 staff members. The company was recognized by the Department of Defense as a small business contractor of the year for critical work done in support of front line weapon systems. In 2000, the FAA awarded EC Technologies a Diamond Excellence Award for continuing education and training of its staff. Dr. Kenton sold the company in 2001.
Dr. Kenton holds patents describing the application of high pressure processing for component repair and a physical method of cleaning the internal passages of turbine engine components. He has been granted the privilege of a Designated Engineering Representative for the Federal Aviation Administration with the responsibility for assessing and approving technical data supporting new turbine engine component repair methods.
Dr. Kenton received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester, as well as a Master of Science degree in Metallurgy and a Doctor of Science in Metallurgy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
